Volunteering
Some Testimonials from
Previous Volunteers
"Everyday spent at PA Nepal is a blessing and
one that will stay for all those that have been here, for the rest of
their lives. The children give us far much more than we can ever imagine
to give them. They are so unique and their spirit radiates around each
and everyone of them, every minute of the day."
"My experience at PA Nepal was amazing. I've
never met such a positive and enthusiastic group of children. See you
all again soon!"
- Clinton Uncle (Australia)
"I never thought I'd find myself in a place so
far from Australia that felt so much like home."
"The work and vision of PA Nepal are nothing
less than inspirational. The staff and children in the home are contributing
every day to making Nepal a better place."
What to Expect as a Volunteer
Life as a volunteer at PA Nepal is guaranteed to be
an experience you won't soon forget. Most of our volunteers work in the
Children's Home for varying lengths of time. There may also be the opportunity
to work in some of the prisons that PA Nepal assists. The only skills
required are maturity and a desire to bring some love and compassion into
the lives of some very special children.
Volunteering at PA Nepal need not dominate all your
time abroad. Many volunteers work from only 5-8pm each evening. During
this time you will be required to play with the children, assist with
homework and provide a listening ear. If you wish to contribute beyond
this then you are always welcome! We also regularly take the children
on weekend excursions, some of which have included the Japanese-Nepali
Children's Library and the Kathmandu Rock Climbing Centre.
There are no fees required to volunteer at PA Nepal
and no placement agencies that you need deal with. All we ask for is your
time. Accommodation can be provided after consultation with Indira Ranamagar
for a small fee.
How to Volunteer
If this sounds like the opportunity you have been
looking for, please contact PA Nepal through any of the addresses listed
below. Applications will then be considered by Indira. Successful applicants
will need to be willing to undergo some training and supervision whilst
at the home.
